There are 5 Components of the "Friends" Program:
TRAINING
“Friends” CAP offers training programs in the following areas to build self-confidence, assertiveness, self-esteem, drug awareness and problem-solving techniques:

MENTORING
One-to-one mentoring promotes community involvement, allowing us to tap a “treasure chest” of
experience, knowledge and expertise. It has proven to be one of the most successful ways of
rallying volunteers to help young people by providing the individual attention they so desperately
need to fill voids in their lives.

RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES - Drug & Gang Free
Having fun is an important part of the teenage years. Our goal is to provide social and recreational
activities and a circle of friends that are drug and gang free. Here are some of the
opportunities we offer participants in our program.

JOB TRAINING/JOB PLACEMENT
“Friends” offers collaborative training opportunities in various fields such as Plumbing,
Carpeting, Construction and Computers.
- Skills Training from local craftsman and computer experts
- Collaboration with local Temporary Employment Placement Agencies
- Provide job opportunities to program youth with local Corporations and Job Placement Agencies
